overseas? let's get some answers from global editor at large at reuters and a writer forts financial times. before we get to our chat, i want to put up a map of how many of the jobs related to the ipod are outside of the united states. in the united states, almost 14,000 jobs created. but in china, 12,000. in the philippines, 5,000. so the total is 41. but of that total, only 14,000 in the u.s. why is that? what does that say about globalization? what does that say about the ipod economy? >> well, i think probably intuitively, most of us would expect that. i think most of us understand that actual manufacturing, even of products invented in the united states, it's mostly not happening in the u.s. and, in fact, when it comes to the ipod, almost none of the actual production of the ipod is done in the u.s. why this i think is really important finding.
